Drumroll, please . . .

As I said in my post yesterday, The Scourge, Book 1 has a new cover! And here it is …

Isn’t it gorgeous? I love the old cover, but the new, vibrant cover pops off the page on ebook retail sites, hopefully providing more visibility for the book.

Here are some of the changes, in cover designer Jeroen ten Berge’s words:

“A big change is the addition of more water around Fenn, creating a stronger feel of her being alone, one of few. The darker water behind her is ominous, foreboding if you will, in front of her things are brighter but shadowed and out of focus, with flares of light. The flares and blurring refer to her blindness, as does the blurring seen in the title. The blurring softens the ominous feel somewhat, adds mystery as well . . . the overall tone is more feminine, soft, in part due to the somewhat dreamlike feel of the colouring of Fennel in the water. The typeface is clean and modern, but still very curvy, with a soft edge.”

Fun Fact: The water Jeroen added is from images of the harbor in his hometown of Wellington, New Zealand! Gorgeous place.

I’ve uploaded the new cover to Amazon and Goodreads, along with a new and improved book “blurb.” Thanks to Lara Perkins from Andrea Brown Literary Agency for fine tuning it.

What do you think of the new cover?
